Ella D. Curry is the owner and CEO of EDC Creations, a marketing and branding firm in Prince George’s County Maryland. She is also the founder of Sankofa Literary Society which empowers independent and/or self-published authors through mentoring programs, Internet workshops, marketing and brand coaching. The Sankofa Literary Society sponsors the Write with Vision program which offers new authors a chance to showcase their books and articles on the Sankofa Literary Society’s site along with book and branding coaching that will help them present themselves as professionals as they enter literary circles.

Ella D. Curry’s graphic design work has been featured on Karibu Books online book store as well as in many of their promotional ads. In the corporate arena, her graphic design work and presentations has been showcased in boardrooms of companies such as Pzier Corp., Hewlett-Packard, Agilent Technologies, Dell and currently BP. She was instrumental in establishing the marketing and promotions plans, for the new mediations firm TAG & Associates based in Atlanta, as their business coach and primary designer for their mass marketing and direct mail promotional campaign. She has built a diverse portfolio of graphic designs for new business owners and authors. Most importantly, she has been able to realize her dream, of owning her own graphic design firm, catering to the literary and arts community.

In regards to the literary world, Ella feels it’s her responsibility to support and encourage new authors. Her mantra is, “Knowledge is the Liberator”.  She made the initial transition into the literary community through her position at Karibu Books as a former Events Buyer and Product Submissions Manager. After reviewing several ill prepared press kits and unappealing newly released book covers, Ella saw there was a need for her talents in the MD/DC literary community. She stepped up to the plate and created branding packages for the new authors and helped them to establish their businesses in the literary world by designing websites and creating their marketing plans, also by helping them to create their own “brand” with  book and business coaching, which would gain them increased exposure and recognition.

Ella has coached several new authors on to fulfill their dreams. Author Julius Kane (Ten Things Every Black Man Must do Before He Dies) was a four-time Karibu Books bestseller in 2007; authors Angela R. Curtis (From Mourning to Morning) has been and Venesha (Mistress Me) will be featured in Jet magazine; Karibu bestselling author J.J. Michael reached the phenomenal rank of top 300 on Amazon.com, during a pre-book release campaign in June 2007 of her book, (It’s Not Over Yet, Genesis Press/Kensington); author Henri Edmonds (The Georgia Avenue Bus) has launched a successful viral marketing campaign which will include book signings at all the DC Public Libraries in the Fall 2007; and author and motivational speaker Matthew C. Horne has released his new book (The Universe Is Inviting You In), June 2007, which has a foreword written by none other than Les Brown.

Ella lives in Prince George’s County Maryland with daughter. When Ella is not working, she loves to create custom signature tags, and chatting in Internet groups with her international friends. As her entrepreneurial spirit guides the way upward, Ella continues to involve herself in challenging, life enhancing projects. She is currently working on the Write with Vision Internet Workshop forum, which was launched in early August, 2007. She can be contacted by for free consultations, questions or comments: elladcurry@edc-creations.com. Visit her website at: www.edc-creations.com.
