ATLANTA AUTHOR TO SPEAK AT GIRL'S SUMMIT
ATLANTA, GA - D.L.Sparks, author of ALL THAT GLITTERS, and Atlanta native, will be among several speakers at the Girl's Summit at Hutchinson Elementary School , May 9th in Atlanta , Georgia .
After dealing with the blow of her best friend, MONICA RENEE BOWIE, being abducted in July of 2007, D.L. is more passionate than ever about raising awareness in young girls and helping them make right choices.
"Monica was my friend, my sister, and in the blink of an eye, she was gone," said D.L.Sparks.
D.L.Sparks' new release ALL THAT GLITTERS tackles the proverbial question: Can money buy happiness? ALL THAT GLITTERS is an emotionally charged look into friends, family, priorities and whether money can truly by happiness; and if so, at what cost? Her novel brings to the forefront the issue of jealousy and greed while stressing the importance of priorities and family.
D.L.Sparks wants to help young women realize their potential to the fullest. "These young girls literally have their whole lives in front of them, and I would hate to see that cut short by bad decisions. Decisions that can inevitably be avoided," Sparks says.
Sparks wants to use this opportunity to speak to young minds in hopes it will help them formulate opinions about life changing challenges and future endeavors.
If you would like more information about this topic, or to schedule an interview with D.L.Sparks, please call Tracie Lemay at 404/626-5842 or e-mail Tracie Lemay at tracielemay@bellsouth.net.

by Wanda D. Hudson
LuvMe is a tantalizing collection of romantic and sensually charged erotic stories.Your imagination will roam in pleasure. Your body will explode with heat. Sheree, Bertice, and Eva are a few of the sexy ladies in LuvMe that promise you your days, afternoons, nights – and everything in between - will never be lonely.
Read the words. Delve into your soul. Find your heart. LuvMe – Because Everybody Needs A Little Luv
Listen to the Intimate Conversation Interview above to fully explore the passion and drama brought to you by "The Sexy One" author Wanda D. Hudson!
Wait for Love: A Black Girl's Story is my first novel. This book is the story of Lynnette Donna Lee's life.
If you have ever been in love, or are longing for that special someone, you've probably experienced many of the same emotions as she. Join her on this adventurous, sometimes humorous, and sometimes painful literary romp. Lynnette bares her soul and her body many times in search of the man she'll marry. The only problem she has is with the men she chooses to give her all to. They show her they don't love her and then go to extremes to get the point across. Why does she keep holding on when the only love involved is nowhere to be found?
"It's the story of someone realizing that life is living her, she's not living life," Hudson said. "She gets to a point where she says, that's it."
If this is a question that you have asked yourself please treat yourself to Wait for Love: A Black Girl's Story. Lynnde's conscience and her soul ask her repeatedly why does she feel worthless without a man. Lynnde never answers them, but instead, takes her life on a journey that shouldn't be traveled. Here is a brief excerpt to take you into her world.

Seen It All and Done The Rest by Pearl Cleage
Reviewed by Tavares S. Carney

Amazon Rating: 5
“Back to Life”
Pearl Cleage's latest release, Seen It All and Done The Rest, is the story of woman searching for her reason for being. Josephine Evans is an almost 60-year old theatre-diva in Amsterdam. The star knows where her story began but isn't certain where it will end. Facing prejudice for being an American citizen in Amsterdam during a war not many are in support of, Josephine returns to America. She returns to her homeland for three reasons, to check on her granddaughter, Zora, to tie up some loose ends with her childhood home and to prove the point she is still a "diva in demand" in Amsterdam. Josephine figures this is a prime time to take care of some much needed business while her best friend, Howard, stays behind to work his magic in Amsterdam.
Returning to Atlanta, Georgia, Josephine Evans discovers that Zora is suffering at the helm of public scrutiny. She also learns that the childhood home she so depended on as her key to financial freedom was a vandalized, squatters paradise that doubled as a dumping site. With the help of neighbors and friends, Josephine, Zora and crew begin their quest to save the home. Never could they have imagined that saving the home would lead to them championing a cause with the potential to expose corruption and blatant disregard for humanity. They did not support the war and they did not support being run off by commercial developers. Would saving the home prove to be the release they all needed?
The storyline progressed at a steady pace. The characters were believable and each had their own unique quality that rounded out the circle of friends. They all worked together, overcame obstacles and stood for what they believed in. Saving the home made them all realize what it is to "be free."

The Afrocentric Book Expo provides authors the opportunity to sell and sign your books in the Mall at Prince Georges.
How many of your books would sell on a Saturday, if sitting on the shelf with hundreds of other titles? What are the chances the reader will even notice your book, if not prominently displayed? When did you have the chance to sit in the bookstore for 7 hours to personally meet the readers and autograph your book?
With Black bookstores in short supply, and the larger chain bookstores not having shelf space to sell books by self-published and independent publishers, authors have to set up their own kiosks. The Afrocentric Book Expo allows the author an to do just that.

Rehoboth Road by Anita Ballard-Jones ---Black Expressions Featured Title

Praise for Rehoboth Road
"Anita Ballard-Jones uses her excellent storytelling abilities to capture the disposition of the African American culture in a rural community starting in the 50's. She told a very inspirational and heartrending story. I could not put this one down, as I soaked up the essence of the characters that lived through the pain inflicted because of one man's sin." --Brenda M. Lisbon of The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers
This book was well written, and kept you wanting more the entire book. It made you feel that you were a part of the book. You could feel the emotions coming from each character. This book made you feel like you were there on Rehoboth Road. I didn't find the english derrogatory, nor a put down of people from the South. I hope Ms. Jones continues to bless us with more novels. I for one would like to be informed when she writes another book. God bless her and her family..I'll be looking for a sequel. --Debrah E. Carr "dee-dee carr" (Takoma Park, MD)
Rehoboth Road is one of the best books I have yet had the pleasure to read. I loved each and every character (even the bad guys). The story was well put together and held my attention from start to finish. Each character is very believable and realistic. The story flows nicely, makes a lot of sense, and does not have one boring moment. I was intrigued during the entire length of the book, and put it down only when I was just too tired to read. The story was so fascinating that I truly hated to see it end and I now eagerly await for more from this exciting new author. If you just want a story with a nice flow, interesting plot, and believable as well as likable characters - Rehoboth Road is what I highly recommmend. It is not rocket science or anything complicated - it is just a darn good book. My hat goes off to Miss Ballard-Jones and I look forward to reading more written by her.--Yvonne Ford (Capitol Hgts., MD)
This book was so enjoyable. The spritual tone of the book combined with the reality of what spritual people go through and how they react was great!! I could not put it down. When I got to the last page and realized the book had ended, I immediately raced to my computer to send the author an e-mail to find out about the next book...LOL... I have not written to an author in a long time, so you know this book was great!!
I'll be the first on line to purchase the sequel. :-) T. Carter (Franklin Park, NJ)

This book was an intriguing tale of what happens when lies infiltrate a family. This book literally brought tears to my eyes because I was so captivated by characters. Well written and a delight to read. You will fall in love with some characters and dispise others. The ending has a moral struggle for many readers I am sure but it was still a great story. --Erica Dice (Chicago, IL)

Black Deer Books
In December 2002, Anita Ballard-Jones established her own publishing company whereas she self-published the first edition of Rehoboth Road in June 2003. Black Deer Books is a very small, full service printing press. The first 2000 books of the first edition of Rehoboth Road were printed, bound, and trimmed by Anita Ballard-Jones in her home. At the same time, another larger company was hired to help keep up with the demands for the books. Since then, the company has used the equipment for printing calendars, pads, pamphlets, and promotional material.
The rights to Rehoboth Road were sold in June 2005 and the second edition was published by the mainstream publisher, Genesis Press Inc. on July 7, 2006. On the same day, Black Expression Book Club posted Rehoboth Road as it's feature book for the month.
Right away, Anita's fans began requesting a sequel to Rehoboth Road and she went to work writing The Dancing Willow Tree. When her publisher failed to set a timely release date as verbally promised, Anita could not let her fans down. She pulled the manuscript and decided to self-publish it.
Anita believes that many blessings come in disguise. She has had the experience of being a self-published writer and that of being a mainstream writer. There was a time when she believed being mainstreamed published was the most important thing that could happen to a writer. She will always thank the people at Genesis Press Inc., the staff and members of the Black Expression Book Club, and all the book lovers who purchased Rehoboth Road. Anita gives special thanks to everyone who took the time to write her. She believes everyone has freed her to do what she loves best--write. The most important thing that can happen to a writer is to be authenticated as an author.
The Internet has opened up a world of opportunities for the self-published author, Anita believes she will be much happier in that world.
The next novel by Anita Ballard-Jones and to be published by Black Deer Books is titled, Ring Around The Roses. The release date will be announced at a later time.
