Please mark your calendars for the upcoming Black Literature Conference 2008 sponsored by The Nyumburu Cultural Center being held at the University of Maryland,  College Park, Maryland 20742.  The Sixth Annual Black Literature Conference 2008. 

 Past participants in the prior conferences include:  ZANE, Omar Tyree,  Jessica Tilles, Blair Walker, Gwynne Forrester, Donna Hill, Dorothy Phaire, Lori Bryant Woolridge, Tracee Garner, Rena Finney, Nane Quartay, Denise Jeffries, KaShamba Williams, Maureen Smith, William ‘Fredrick’ Cooper, Allison Hobbs, Eisa Nefertari Ulen and many more. 

This year promises to be just as exciting.  This year’s literature conference will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the Nyumburu Cultural Center Multi-Purpose Room (0130) on the University of Maryland at College Park Campus.  This year’s conference is anticipated to be a tremendous success.  We are anticipating hundreds in attendance from the Maryland, Washington, DC, New York and Virginia areas.
It is FREE and open to the public. 

There will be writers workshops held throughout the day on various topics such as character development, conflict and plot development, self-publishing and the legal aspects of the publishing industry.
